What do wedding packages include?
Each Patina Events at BBG wedding package includes your selected menu of food and beverages as well as china, glassware, silverware, white or ivory linens, service staff (butlers and bartenders), and administrative fees. Wedding packages are subject to New York State sales tax. Patina provides all tables and chairs and will work with you on the venue’s floor-plan diagram.
Is a cake included in the wedding package?
The packages include a wedding cake created under the expert supervision of executive pastry chef Richard Capizzi. All of our cakes can be customized with your choice of many flavors, fillings, and frostings. You also have the ability to create a personalized, one-of-a-kind cake for an additional charge. Please ask your catering sales manager for more information.
What does the facility rental fee cover?
The facility rental fee covers access to the grounds on the day of the wedding for prewedding photographs, ceremony location in one of the designated areas, and use of the designated venue(s).
What does the BBG membership include?
To host an event at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, you must become a member at the Patron level. The Patron-level membership includes unlimited free access to the Garden, invitation to events created just for members, and other exclusive benefits. Of the $550 cost, $468 is tax deductible. Your membership begins on the 31st day after your first deposit is paid.
What are the deposit amounts, and when are payments due?
To reserve the date, the client must pay Patina Events at BBG the facility rental fee(s), the membership fee required by BBG, and 30% of the catering total. A second deposit of 30% of the catering total is due six months prior to the event. The remaining balance is due at least 30 days prior to the event.
When should we discuss menu selections?
Menu selections should be finalized two months prior to the date of the wedding. Menu revisions can be made up to one month in advance.
Is a tasting provided?
A complimentary wedding tasting is offered for two guests after the client has confirmed with a deposit and a menu has been chosen. Tastings typically take place three months prior to your wedding. Your tasting will consist of two appetizers, three entrees and two wedding cake flavors. For additional tasting information, please speak with your catering sales manager.
Does Patina charge a corkage fee?
Should you want to supply your own wine and champagne, there is a corkage fee of $15 per 750 ml bottle. Corkage fees are subject to tax and service charges. Outside supply of liquor and other beverages is not allowed.
What is the cost for children’s meals?
Meals are $75 (plus 23% administration fee and sales tax) each for children aged 3 to 12 years old. Your catering sales manager must be notified of the number of children receiving meals 14 business days prior to your wedding.
Do you offer meals for vendors?
Yes, Patina can provide vendors with a meal from the wedding menu for $85 (plus 23% administration fee and sales tax per person). Your catering sales manager must be notified of the number of vendors receiving meals 14 business days prior to your wedding.
When should we notify Patina of our guaranteed guest count?
Your catering sales manager must be notified of your final guaranteed guest count, including the number of children and vendors, two weeks before the wedding. If no guarantee is received, your estimated guest count will become the guaranteed guest count. If the guaranteed guest count is increased within two weeks of the event, you will be charged accordingly, provided we can accommodate the additional guest count.
What type of tables and linens does Patina provide?
Patina provides all standard round cocktail, dinner, and high-top tables for all events, along with long rectangular tables for food stations and bars. White or ivory cotton linens and napkins are included for these tables in all packages. A variety of other shapes and styles of tables, as well as specialty linens and napkins, are available to rent for an additional cost.
What is the law regarding food, beverage, and bar service?
No food or beverages may be brought onto the premises from outside sources before, during, or after the event without prior written consent in advance from Patina Events at BBG. Patina does partner with several glatt kosher caterers and can provide for the entire wedding to be kosher or accommodate as few as one guest. In accordance with New York law, Patina and staff will require proper identification for any persons appearing to be under the age of 30. Please inform your guests and bridal party that they may be asked to show ID to consume alcoholic beverages. The client agrees to be responsible for the consumption of alcoholic beverages by all guests and understands that Patina, in its sole discretion, may refuse service to any guest. Also, it is solely the responsibility of the parents or guardians to make sure that minors do not obtain or drink alcoholic beverages.
Who will take care of our personal belongings?
Please appoint a member of your family or a friend to look after your personal items and gifts. Patina Events at BBG will accept the delivery or drop-off of personal items (place cards, menus, giveaways, etc.) during the week of your wedding. Please designate a member of your party to collect all of these items along with any gifts that you receive, to be taken home immediately following your wedding.
Vendors (florist, band, DJ) may load in their equipment and will have access to the designated venue(s) at least two hours prior to the start of your wedding. Any equipment brought by your vendors should be removed immediately at the conclusion of your wedding. Patina cannot be responsible for any items left unattended or overnight without making prior arrangements for storage. Please understand that we will likely have several parties the same week as your wedding, and secure space is limited. Please ask your catering sales manager for additional details regarding storage of items as well as other important vendor guidelines.
